KVKK Privacy Notice

Data controller

Under KVKK (Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698), your personal data is processed by Doğu Batı Uluslararası Cenaze Hizmetleri (the "Company") as data controller, within the scope described below. The Company's legal name, address and contact details are given on the Imprint page.

Personal data processed

The full name, phone number, email address, message content and details of your request (place of death, destination) that you send us via the contact form, by phone or on WhatsApp. In the course of the repatriation service, the details of the deceased and their relatives contained in ID cards, passports and official documents; any health information in these documents is special category personal data under KVKK and is processed only to the extent required by law.

Purposes and legal basis

Your personal data is processed in order to respond to your request, to plan and carry out the repatriation service, to complete procedures with the authorities, consulates, airlines and customs, to meet legal obligations and to communicate with you. The legal bases under Article 5(2) of KVKK are the conclusion or performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation and legitimate interest; special category data is processed under the conditions set out in Article 6 of KVKK. The consent you give in the contact form is obtained so that we can contact you.

Transfers

To the extent the service requires, your data may be shared with civil registry offices, municipalities, prosecutors' offices, consulates, airlines and cargo companies, the customs administration and funeral directors in the destination country. Some of these transfers are transfers abroad and are made in accordance with the conditions in Article 9 of KVKK. Retention period

Your personal data is kept for as long as the purpose of processing requires and for the limitation periods set by the relevant legislation; at the end of that period it is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

Your rights

Under Article 11 of KVKK you have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed; to request information if it has been; to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used for that purpose; to know the third parties to whom it has been transferred; to request correction if it is incomplete or inaccurate; to request deletion or destruction; to request that these actions be notified to the third parties to whom the data has been transferred; to object to an outcome against you resulting from analysis by automated systems; and to claim compensation for damage caused by unlawful processing.
