Funeral Repatriation from Turkey Abroad
If a relative who was in Turkey as a tourist, medical traveller, worker or resident has died, we bring them home. We handle every official and logistical step from the place of death to the destination airport and keep you informed throughout.
What happens
- Wherever the death occurred (hospital, hotel, home), we collect the deceased in a refrigerated vehicle.
- We handle the death certificate, the multilingual death certificate extract (Formule C), the burial transit permit and the consular approval.
- Embalming is performed and a sealed coffin is prepared in line with international air transport rules.
- The airline booking, air waybill and customs clearance are completed.
- We share the details the family or the local funeral director will need to receive the deceased at the destination airport.
What we need from you
- The deceased's passport (or ID card and residence permit)
- Name and phone number of the relative to contact in Turkey and in the destination country
- Details of the person or funeral director who will receive the deceased in the destination country
- Insurance policy or funeral fund membership details, if applicable
How long it takes
Usually 2-4 days if the documents are complete. A judicial procedure, an autopsy, consular working days and flight availability can extend this.
The times given are typical ranges; they can change depending on how quickly the authorities, the airline and the consulate process each step. An autopsy, a judicial procedure or a public holiday will extend them.

What determines the price
The price depends on the destination country, the air cargo charge, consular fees, the type of coffin and the distance from the place of death to Istanbul. We go through these items with you in the first call and provide a free written quote.
Costs are usually covered by the family, an insurer or the funeral fund the deceased belonged to. We check the cover together in the first call; a written quote is free of charge.
