Coffins and Preparation
For international air transport the deceased must be embalmed and carried in a sealed (zinc-lined) coffin. The coffin is chosen according to the family's wishes and the rules of the destination country; we explain the suitable, dignified options without any emphasis on price.
Sealed transfer coffin
A zinc-lined, soldered coffin that meets airline and destination country rules. The coffin is carried inside an air cargo crate.
Embalming
Required for international transfer; carried out by authorised staff and certified.
Ritual washing and shrouding
Washing, shrouding and prayers are arranged according to the family's faith and denomination. For non-Muslim families, preparation is carried out according to their own faith.
Cold chain
From collection until departure, the deceased is kept in a refrigerated vehicle and under mortuary conditions.
